I am a 26 year old, nurse by trade, dog mom to a handsome chocolate lab named Murphy! I began my fitness journey almost 3 years ago. October, 2011, I began counting calories with an app on my phone which resulted in losing 32 pounds. At that time, I lived off low-calorie, processed foods like Special K, Walden Farms, and low calorie cookies. Once I had lost the desired amount of weight that I had hoped for, I realized I still didn't FEEL well. I didn't workout the whole 8 months I counted calories-not one time. I did not pay attention to nutritional value, or consuming enough WHOLE foods.
I began a health and fitness Instagram, and did my research on whole, non-GMO foods, and what is best to consume for longevity and feeling your best. NOW, I wake up at 5:00 am every morning to workout. I have learned that it is important to stop counting calories, and start counting nutrients. I learned the best form of workouts to get the greatest results without having to be a cardio bunny and live on the treadmill for hours. I noticed my body change immediately. I was getting toned, losing the "bubble gut" I thought I would always have. I had increased energy levels and a greater outlook on life. A year after I began my account on IG, a girl doing P90x reached out to me, commented on a post about my meals and workouts, and handed me an opportunity to help other change their lives, while continuously working on my health and fitness journey.
